Orient Qigong - Deep Healing from Within The most convincing person is the one who speaks from personal experience. And there are few as convincing as those who have battled life threatening conditions, and won. To suffer a stroke is hard enough, but to suffer one at age 35 would put many people in despair. After a doctor told him that he could expect little more than gradual failing of his health, antiques trader Zhang Xiangxing found his will to survive in Qigong. After two months of practising under a certified instructor, his health was restored in stunning fashion, as corroborated in medical reports. By this year, Mr Zhang would have practised qigong for 15 years, most of them as a certified instructor and practitioner of "Medical Qigong", a healthcare and therapeutic system that involves no medicine, no. surgery and virtually no pain, and needs only the patient's determination to practise to restore health. Even Hepatitis B, renal disease and heart condition sufferers are advocates. Singapore is affluent, but the graying population and soaring health costs put many people, even professionals, in a quandary. Mr Zhang, to overcome misconceptions about Qigong, makes it a point to demystify and teach the therapy approach to professionals, some at the highest echelons of society. Qigong, as taught by Mr Zhang, is not "magical" or "spiritual" (the master himself is a Christian). He seeks to avoid damage to the body constitution. Mr Zhang teaches physical postures and motions as therapeutrc intervention, always with great conscientiousness and care. He makes recommendation via dietary changes, work and sleeping patterns for a more holistic lifestyle. Qi is energy that flows within our bodies and minds. Internally, it moves through meridians, or pathways. By ensuring that Qi flows freely, it is possible for the body's regenerative powers to strengthen immunity against diseases, repair or heal bodily problems and promote emotional balance. Scientists in China have also detected the outward manifestation of Qi in electrical discharges of the body observable through infra-red, electro-monitoring and other devices. A few masters can use direct transmission of Qi to help faster healing. Mr Zhang welcomes queries and can provide greater understanding of Qigong, in free consultations. |
